Fri, 12 October 2007 We woke up this morning and didn't have any milk or coffee. What is a guy to do. We are 20 minutes driving or 20 minutes flying to the nearest store. Flying is more fun so we flew to a nearby town where the Safeway is across the street from the airport. We picked up our coffee and milk, had breakfast and flew home. This footage is us in our airplane descending and landing at our airstrip and taxing to our home. I don't allow myself to get envious very often, but good lord, that looks like a little slice of heaven you folks have right there. The taxi through the trees looked a little tight, but I'm guessing that's somewhat an effect of the camera.
On suggestion I have concerns the audio - it's always a problem with flight videos. I know it requires more work, but I think you should either record audio from the intercom (either directly into the camera if it has a ext-mic jack or to an external recorder) or drop the audio all together and put some podsafe music in its place. I like the effects of the change in wind noise and the sound of the stall horn, but over a few minutes of video the sound gets annoying. After all, that's why I bought an ANR headset :)
I've done videos both ways. If you'd like to talk about tips feel free to contact me at my web site or on twitter (@oblivion).
I say keep the videos coming - even if you don't take my advice as I can always turn the sound down :)

Thanks Oblivion for you comment. Yes I know the audio was going to suck. I have a FISHER (Sanyo) Pocket Camcorder C1 that I carry all the time. This was the camera I used. It does not have any inputs, just the onboard stereo mics. I thought about laying down a second track of Tina and I commenting or audio from our cockpit recorder, but rather just wanted to see if there was any interest in us posting video. Also had zero time for post production before flying out for a 3 day trip.
If we produce more video I will set up our Canon and feed in the intercom audio...very easy as we are wired for Audio in the plane anyway.
Thanks for listening (watching) and hope to hear from you again.

Hello Rob and Tina and congratulations on your fine podcasts. I live in Melbourne, Australia and I am soaking in as much information about flying as I before I embark on training in January.
More video taken in the cockpit would certainly be appreciated and I think would help the learner more than audio alone.
Good luck Tina and thanks to you both.
